Want to learn to do this??

Here’s how we’ll get you there!!
Step 1 – Learn the basics.
Our qualified coaches will teach you the basics in flat water. We’ll introduce you to the equipment, the skills and teach you how to be safe. The club has all the required equipment so no need to spend any money buying gear till you know what direction you want to take the sport.
Step 2 – White water experience
The club offers a number of opportunities to develop white water kayaking skills. As one of Scotland’s most active non competitive clubs (currently we offer over 90 sessions each year, and this continues to grow!!) you’ll have the opportunities to develop these skills. Our experienced coaches and leaders will take you from the basics on a simple river or at Scotland’s only white water centre, Pinkston Watersports, and progress you up through the grades. During Spring, Summer and Autumn the club organises a minimum of 2 coached white water sessions each month.
Stage 3 – Build and develop your skills
Once you have the basics in place we have the experience and the know how to take your paddling ability further. As well as teaching you how to paddle, we work with a number of external coaching providers to expand your knowledge and qualifications to a level beyond what most clubs offer. Not only will we teach you how to be a good paddler, we’ll teach you to be safe paddler and develop your skills so you can spread your knowledge and experience to others.
Some of the subsidised courses the club has ran in the last few years are
- 1 to 5 star training and assessments
- A range of water safety and rescue courses
- First Aid
- Coaching and development courses
Your development is all done in a structured way using the national governing bodies recognised qualifications and training courses.
So what you waiting for, come join us at one of our sessions and see what the club has to offer!!
